Spied a couple of blue herons (maybe they are Less Blue Herons - they were short) at the park. This guy let me get pretty close!

Another long day!

We were at the soccer field at 8 am for pictures for the younger daughter, 10 for the game & same time pictures for older daughter, then her game at 11:45. At least 103 degree heat by midday. We were melting.

Then off to the Boy Scout Picnic in Long Beach. Took us two long hours in bumper to bumper traffic. With my in-laws in tow. The Pack that my husband earned his Eagle Scout Award with has an annual reunion. It's mostly a gathering of all the parents, who became good friends throughout the years. It's a good chance for them to show off their grandkids and remineice and catch up. It made the trip worth it. All the parents are in their 60's now. We haven't been able to go to this reunion in about 3 years. It's always soccer season! It was really good to see everyone.
