Last Chance

I finally managed to catch the last night of the Luminarie, a festival held in the city centre every December since 1995 to commemorate the Great Hanshin earthquake. The lights were donated by the Italian Government and they use over 200,000 individually hand painted lights. Electricity is generated from biomass in order to stay environmentally friendly. This is the final part of the Luninarie, I blipped one of the streets last year, you can see it here. This was the 19th festival and has been running since December 5th! Glad I finally caught it - and the food stalls there are pretty amazing too! Yum yum.

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
