Here you see a close up of the next polyester mooring line segment connected and spooled off the MLD winch. The diameter of the drum of this winch is about 10 meters so it is only filled half with the last 500 m segment. If you have a look at the riggers left of the drum, you'll see how big this winch and moorings actually are. But again; size matters if you want to moor a big platform hurricane safe at 2100 m waterdepth.
