Shag on the pier

Today we visited a trio of whaling stations (Stromness, Leith and Prince Olav Harbour) and did two zodiac cruises, but alas no landings. During lovely sunshine and calm conditions we circumnavigated Grass Island and then had a look at the breeding shags on the ruined pier at Leith. There was plenty of activity with birds flying in and out with nesting material
Later on in duller conditions we went into the very sheltered Elephant Lagoon and then to Prince Olav Harbour, where we saw the shipwrecked Brutus.
