St Andrews at Night

Still feeling sorry for myself because of this stubborn cold, I spent most of the day tucked up in bed, only venturing into town in the late afternoon for a quick (and not very productive) shopping expedition.

I was on the way back to the bus when I stopped at St Andrew's Church (spookily enough, in Andrew Street), struck by how dark it had become even at a not very late time of the day. I carefully eased the camera between the uprights of the metal gate barring entrance to this colonnade outside what is now a tourist office and took this, the only blip of the day.

I've played around a bit in Photoshop, trying to recapture the effect which had caught my eye.
