Santo Domingo

Tonight we attended a Christmas music program of a "Tuna" style of music that originated in Spain. The instruments are mandolins, guitars, castanets, tambourines, accordion, bells, and the rest is choral. Constant movement and lively music (no Silent Night here) make for the most wonderful experience.
Because of the movement, dim lighting, and position, I got no good pictures of the performers.
But the inside of the Santo Domingo Church is spectacular. The ornate gilded carvings, statues, and paintings on every surface are almost overwhelming.

Wherever you are, if you ever see a program of this type, don't pass up the opportunity to attend. You will just feel really good.
