'Boys Will Be Boys'

This morning Dylan came in to me asking how to make a slingshot. We looked up all of the different styles on Google and choose the good old fashioned type to make. He had to firstly go out into the back paddock to find a suitable branch with the 'Y' shape in it. He came back with this beauty. Then we cut up an old leather gardening glove to make the pouch from the palm of the glove. Dylan then finished it off using the packet of rubber bands that both kids got in the advent calendar today. Then he cut up and folded paper projectiles to fire from it as a test. It worked really well. He then took it out into the paddock, filled his pockets with small rocks and pebbles and started practising hitting targets.

After lunch I headed out into the war-zone of Westfield shopping centre in Doncaster to do my Christmas shopping and post the last batch of Christmas Cards. It actually wasn't anywhere near as chaotic as I thought it would be. Drove straight in and found a car park straight away. Shopping all finished within 2 hours and headed home.

Took the kids outside to play some backyard cricket late in the afternoon, and now I'm watching the T20 Big Bash league as I'm typing this. A very close game at the moment between the Sydney 6's and the Sydney Thunder.

Time for a reasonably early night now.
