A screenshot from my phone - the screensaver is a linnet. This was the moment at which the Sun was at its furthest from the Earth (GMT). The Winter Solstice. From here on the days get longer. Now that's a reason to celebrate!
I went for a walk locally today, but the wind was cold and gusty so I didn't get to see much in the way of wildlife - rooks and crows, a pair of bullfinches and a few pied wagtails.
