An ordinary life....

Fun with a Capital F!

The day was timed to perfection....get Alan out to school, tidy up, get packed for staying at Ele's tonight, get Alan in from school early (he finished at 12.30) and settled with Christmas music then spend some time leisurely getting ready for my girl's afternoon / night out. Then I got a call to say friends were popping in to hand in their Christmas card so plans slid a bit.

Not a problem though as it was lovely to see them and spend an hour or two drinking coffee and eating Christmas goodies :))

This meant I had a bit of a rush to get ready but miraculously set off within 10 minutes of when I'd planned. Got to the Boathouse just after 3pm with the others having arrived a few minutes in front of me.

Started the celebrations off with champagne cocktails before moving to our table for some very lovely food, blethers and many a laugh. So good to catch up! The evening took a bit of a surreal turn when a bunch of men in kilts arrived with bagpipes and a drum and regaled us with Scotland the Brave before leaving again!

It may surprise you to learn we were last out the place but not before a final round of drinks and two rounds of hot buttered toast! Yes, you read that right. The waiter came to take our final order of two Rioja's, two G&T's and we also asked hot buttered toast, never thinking they would give us it, but they did! In fact the waiter declared us genius for asking! :))

Back to Ele's for a final blether then bed....at last!
