Geese Enjoying the Flood

During the past two or three days we have had constant rain (what else is new for you?) and total are nearly so snow melt. So, the Chenango River flooded right over its banks. Then this morning it receded quite a bit. Yesterday the Canada geese were swimming in the corn field and the old soccer field. Today they are making themselves at home gobbling up whatever is left after the river returned to its home. Some swimming is still possible in the channel the river is steadily carving for itself eery time it floods.
That was how it looked here this morning.
And this evening everyone got their Christmas wish of new snow on the ground for a properly white Christmas. Only about 2 or three inches, yet we are all whiteness again. Not sure where the geese are tonight.
