Christmas Eve

After the wild storms of yesterday we could see that this Scots pine tree had been damaged. The top third of it came hurling down and landed in the churchyard, disturbing one or two headstones and covering several others.
Members of the parochial church council were inspecting the damage, so it will probably be removed and rectified soon.
The local butcher's was full of people collecting their turkeys etc this morning, and sherry and mince pies were being served too!
Our Christmas guests arrived for afternoon tea after a good journey from Cambridge, and some of us plan to go to midnight mass tonight Christmas is here!.
