Croc's Christmas Carcass!

This is Christmas Lunch - 'croc style' for our very large saltwater (estuarine) crocodile.

Once a year on Christmas Day Simmo gets a whole carcass to feast on and as you can see here he had a lot of fun bashing it around tenderizing it! It took him all of 15-20 mins to devour the sheep and then spent the rest of the afternoon lazing around digesting! Not unlike a lot of people on Xmas day!

I of course have been at work all day. Here's what my Zoo Xmas Day consisted of:
*Feeding our little Loggerhead Turtle his Christmas Fish
*Hanging up a Christmas ribs for our Tazzie Devil
*Fresh Xmas eucalypt for Slater koala
*Xmas cricket and mealworm treats for the phascogales
*Nebulising cuddles 5 metre reticulated python
*A special Vet Dpt Xmas quiz that sent me and the vet on a tour of the vet department hunting down answers!
*Lovely Xmas Lunch put on by the bosses!
*Wandering through the savannah checking out monitoring all the African animals for appropriate digestion post xmas lunch
*Checking on Giraffe Marama's joint issues (really an excuse to come visit and feed them dried banana!)
*Feeding baby water rat 'Lucy' (who then came home with me)
*Treating an unwell Purple Crowned Lorikeet

Pretty cruisy day really! Hope you all had a fabulously Merry Xmas!!
