Posada Noche Buena

hereA posada is basically a religious procession. On Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) several churches have posadas that walk toward the zócalo and then circle it I don't know how many times.
The posada consists of dancers, a brass and drum band, monos, a large truck with a manger scene of which all the characters are children, fireworks at the lead, fireworks from the church, and all the people who have joined the procession.
People are so warm and welcoming - a friend and I went into the churchyard and were instantly part of the whole event.
I cannot begin to describe the experience, but I can say that it entered my soul in a really good way.
