Amiele

My favorite beach on Mahe is Anse Boileau. A traditional fishing village on the South West of the island and I was up at 5am this morning to get there in time for sunrise. This little schooner, Amiele sat on her own on the shore and I was immediately attracted to her. I could not stop thinking what she must have been through. Back in 1999 I was deep sea fishing off the Seychelles island and we came across a similar schooner that had been drifting for a couple of days as its engines had failed. The fisherman were over the moon to see us and we sent a radio message back to shore for the coast guard to assist them. I guess I have always had respect for fisherman since then. What a tough life.
