Silence is golden

Chinese Buddha (6th c.) with Guanyin, goddess of compassion (13th-14th c.) at Portland Art Museum.

New is today's DDW-Mollymay challenge.

I dislike crowds. Today the finally shopped-out holiday masses were flocking to the new exhibit of the $140m Francis Bacon triptych and the temporary exhibit of Japanese samurai paraphernalia. Unable to get near the displays without being elbowed and jostled, I soon fled to the quiet, empty Asian rooms and hung out with the Buddha and his pal.

Beauty is always new.
Compassion is always new.
Wisdom is always new.
Silence is always new.
