Diana is still in bed unwell. That's Friday night to Sunday evening and at best, I don't expect her to be well enough to get up until tomorrow morning, making about 60 hours in bed, most of it asleep. Must be horrible.

Half of the family returned home today, so we are down from 10 people to just 6. Makes the house seem so much quieter and very much signals that the Xmas festivities are over. Oh well, only 359 sleeps till Xmas. I for one can't wait.

Heard from a friend today. Single mother. Struggling to make ends meet. She has been conned out of £3,000. Starts off as a seemingly fool proof investment opportunity. A chance to make money with no risk which of coure to someone in need sounds too good to be true, so they fall for it. Having hooked you, they then make various excuses as to why they need more money from you, and key to the hustle is the threat that you will lose your investment to-date if you don't put more in. Bastards.

She finally saw sense today and reported it to the police, and this is where it beggars believe. The police took no statement and will not talk to her for at least another week because they are too busy. Now when I see a copper in the back of a van pointing a speed camera out of the window to earn easy revenue from the general public instead of getting out there and solving real crimes, it makes my blood boil.

Rant over. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
