Flooded Thames

Went to Pilates. Walked into town after lunch. Good job we took our walking boots as we had to paddle through some quite deep and long puddles that had formed on the Thames footpath. The river was fast-flowing and the meadows were completely underwater.

The damage to the iconic Blade building is quite obvious - a large panel has been blown out at the top of the building following the storm earlier this week. The roads underneath are closed just in case the loose panel comes adrift (News report).

Two red kites were circling over the town centre and we tracked them soaring over the offices and shops.
