Departure

The photograph was taken early morning. The promised rain arrived overnight but has now stopped and the sun is trying to come through. A couple of hours later the weather had become (and is due to remain for several days) what we hoped it might have been. Sunny and quite warm, I was quite comfortable without a coat.

During our stay we had only one bright sunny day, and a lot of rain, sometimes very heavy. Until our arrival there had been a couple of weeks of very nice weather, and now it is set fair once again. It seems we picked precisely the wrong ten days from a meteorological point of view.

This morning we tidied the flat ready for potential rental opportunities, maybe at Easter, then completed the packing and headed over to Linate airport for the journey back to Aberdeen. We certainly felt the change in temperature when we emerged from the airport at Aberdeen in the late evening.
