Armitage "Tunnel"

Solace Cruise day 2.

The shot shows Solace following another boat into Armitage Tunnel. Well it was a tunnel once upon a time. When the road which ran above the tunnel was being improved the top of the tunnel was removed and a bridge substituted. This resulted in a narrow stretch of canal which requires a crew member to be sent on ahead to check no boats are entering the narrows. If you don't do this there is a chance that one of you will have a lot of reversing to do - not an easy task with a narrow boat.

A day of good weather with CC and "The Mother" spending a lot of time in the bows. The highlight of the day being the sighting of a Water Vole by CC who actually managed to catch a snap of it.
