Logs.

Once upon a time there was a piece of wood. It was not an expensive piece of wood. Far from it. Just a common block of firewood, one of those thick, solid logs that are put on the fire in winter to make cold rooms cosy and warm.

-- Carlo Collodi

Today I built these logs stores with my Dad. When the wood from the fallen Douglas Fir is finally all chopped up, it needs somewhere to live and dry out before it can be used for the fire.

The first one took quite a while to make. Then we went inside for a much deserved tea and cake break. The second one went up much quicker because (a) by then we knew what we were doing and (b) going inside for tea made us realise how f-f-f-freezing it was outside!
