Herons are a complete gift to the blipper.

They stand very, very still for ages - and they are not the slightest bit interested in you or what you're doing. That gives you the chance to take lots of pictures - all the while getting closer and closer until you are practically able to touch them. Now this way of capturing them takes a lot more skill.

This being the last day of 2013, can I wish all you blippers out there - a Happy New Year? May 2014 bring you all that you are hoping it will ........................
