Mud flats on #waterofleith

Just before I took this picture (from the Sandport bridge), we ran into (well, not literally, but you what I mean) Meles and DaveH, and Meles mentioned the mud that had flowed down the Water of Leith with the heavy waters in the last couple of weeks, and said that the ducks were taking quite an interest. They are indeed, as we could see for ourselves moments later. If either the ducks or the moorhens decide to use the mudflats as the basis for a nest, this has a tendency, as Meles has commented, to end badly.

A quiet night last night, although we did go out on the balcony to watch the fireworks. Much more impressive than the end of Festival display. Indeed a festival of ostentatious bangs and clatters.

We are now getting ready for the big off.
