New Years day ride

Happy New Year all!

After a very disturbed night - cause - 18 year old son! - who is still in bed - it's 3.00pm! Need I say any more. The thought of getting up this morning and going cycling did not appeal, especially with the rain and strong winds that were forecast. But get up we did and joined 5 other mad folks and headed of to Stamford. the ride there was lovely - with a strong tail wind. Not ideal as we would rather have the tail wind home but there was very little choice on locations for a cafe that was open. The ride home wasn't as bad as we had thought it might be. Yes the wind was strong and the rain pelted us, even overtaking cars drowned us but we all had high spirits and wanted to enjoy the first ride of the new year.

Now home, thawed and replenished with New Year's Cake - (should have been Christmas cake but only got iced yesterday!) the rest of the day will be spent keeping cosy.
