Lobster:Land and #Blogmanay fatigue

Burning the candle at both ends. These guys had been playing a gig last night in Edinburgh's city centre, then were back at 1pm today playing again.

We turned up to find out what was happening at the event billed for today's entertainment - Scot:Land - the final part of the Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations. The idea was that you spun a dial and this gave you a ticket to go to a venue somewhere in the Old Town where there would be entertainment - all different types of performance. However, we had our eye on Lobster:Land - where Kenny Anderson and his band were playing. It turned out to be at the City Art Centre, and I think there had been something of a miscalculation in the logistical department. The band were on the fifth floor. The only access was via a lift which took 26 people at a time. There were HUNDREDS of people in the queue. Luckily we arrived as one of the prior sessions was coming out, so only had to wait about half an hour to be admitted.

We also made it to the Scottish Storytelling Centre to see a Fire Dance, but by that time it was raining, and three days of outdoor events was beginning to take their toll. We headed home without going back to enter the competition to win a luxury Scottish Holiday worth £2,014. Would have been nice. Back to the dream.

Oh, and the funny coincidence of the day was that Mr P spotted me sitting only 3 seats away from him at the City Art Centre and gave a cheery wave! Happy New Year x.
