The Triple Tub Deluxe

Usually the western world is well ahead of Indonesia when it comes to technology, but when it comes to laundry management, Indonesia is so far ahead of the game that quite frankly, it is embarrassing. I have no doubt that the TTD will eventually filter through to the western world, but in the mean time, I thought I would give you a heads up, with a sneak preview.

This is an extremely low powered, collapsible system, manufactured from the most modern materials technology, using high speed injection molding techniques which allow costs to be kept to a minimum.

Shown here in the collapsed state, the first tub serves as a water storage, this collects and stores the water for the next cycle, resulting in huge time savings which make western machines seem rather silly, with completed wash cycles in as little as ten minutes.

The powder dispenser is manual. This stroke of genius means that all the powder goes into the wash, rather than clogging up the dispenser, creating more work. The big washing machine companies never really go to grip with the powder management systems. But here we have the simplest and most effective of solutions, one has to ask why the design engineers could not come up with this before.

The second tub is where the main wash action takes place and we first experience the innovation of the twin arm actuators, with the unique ten digital manipulators that contain built in sensors. These digits are capable of teasing out each individual garment and automatically adjusting the wash intensity according to the fabric encountered. Thus, delicate fabrics get the merest of manipulation, whereas those old soiled towels can get a good beating.

Applying dual functionality as a major rationalization and cost saving, the twin arm actuators double as pressure sensitive wringers, again, separating out the individual garments for that necessary personal touch, thus greatly increasing the life of the garment. The spin dryer never really caught on here, judged to be indiscriminate and power hungry.

After the garment is wrung out, it is transferred to the third tub, the holding area. The wash tub (2) is then drained and refilled from the reservoir tub (1), using the patented twin, high speed, water transfer system. Piping was considered in the early development of the product, but were judged to be far too slow for such a modern world. The new water transfer technology allows the next wash cycle to start in as little as seven seconds, revolutionizing the whole laundry experience.

The machine can be paused at any time, allowing you to get in there and tackle those stubborn stains with some personal attention and no risk of electrocution. Alternatively, the machine can be paused indefinitely, for the wash to soak. You can return with absolute confidence, that the machine will resume in exactly the position that you left it AND the machine has a lifetime guarantee, never to jam with your wash stuck inside.

When the last rinse is complete, the holding tub (3) can be moved independently from the rest of the utility, enabling the completed wash to be easily transferred to the blue riband feature of the entire laundry system, the solar powered, free air dryer. This highly efficient dryer makes up fpr the rather less efficient, but fabric friendly wringer and deals with those tedious drips in no time.

Again, each individual garment gets that trade mark personal touch, and each item is arranged in such a way that ironing has been banished to the history books and museums. But many women refuse to give up the old traditions and still to this day, perform ironing demonstrations for the tourist industry and the education establishment, lest the youth of today forget their roots.

Finally, the tubs are stacked together. The modern lightweight materials, with absolutely no metal parts, means that the device can be lifted and stored away conveniently in a cupboard. No wheels to leave streaks on your floor, no messy cables, no risk of electrocution and no visible reminders of the work you have waiting every time you visit the kitchen.

This modular system can be purchased in stages, allowing you to ‘try out’ the twin tub functionality before committing to the complete assembly. But this cautious approach is just wasting valuable time, when you could be enjoying the full functionality of this futuristic ‘god send’ to the laundry chore.

In addition, the modular design means that you can easily and cheaply upgrade to a larger tub set when your family expands or you decide to use your shrewd, eco friendly investment to make some extra cash on the side.

I know, I am a tease, but show some patience and start saving up your ten dollars and pretty soon the Triple Tub Deluxe will be in your kitchen and your neighbors will be green with envy.

It is true that the system is not yet perfect, but with more than fifty million women involved with product development, you can pretty much guarantee that more innovation will follow. In fact, already there are rumors circulating the Kampungs, that the technology has already been successfully adapted for dish washing operations. It is early days yet, but apparently eggy forks will be a thing of the past – eat your heart out :)
