Ghostly fungus

The ghostly forms of White Saddle, Helvella crispa, can still be found pushing up through the beech leaves. 2013 seems to have been a Helvella year - no Earth Stars, another spectacular fungus species that shares the same habitat, but hundreds of both the white and black Helvellas. I haven't a clue what this might portend...so far it's been a great year!
