Last Lifer of 2013: Rissa tridactyla

A Black-Legged Kittiwake wheeling around the north spit jetty this evening. This is a new bird for me! I managed to squeak in one more lifer before the year turned.

A number of people have discussed how hard this year was on them. I'm not feeling a need to say good riddance to 2013 though it was certainly not without tremendous hardship at times. Mostly I feel fortunate for having gotten to travel, live, work, and learn in beautiful places and see so many lovely living creatures.
