Backwash

Blimey, I was going to give up Blip but then the storm that was rolling in last night caused a massive sea surge this morning that coincided with high tide and the River Avon backed up and the docks flooded, unlike anything I've ever seen in 16 years living next to the docks. The Chocolate Path was totally under water, to a depth of six or seven inches.

This is the view of the big lock at Cumberland Basin, looking into the docks. As you can see, the water level in the Basin has risen so high that water is flooding around the lock and into the docks. This is not supposed to happen.

I tweeted this picture and it ended up on MSN's news page and then on the news page of local radio station Jack FM too.
