Ozzie the Seal...

...or maybe walrus. If there's no ocean for Ozzie, next best he loves swimming pools. We have to be careful not to let him outside unless we want to deal with a wet dog. Which we do a lot in this part of the world, because everybody has a swimming pool.

We are now ensconced in Sherman Oaks at Matt's house. They have two big golden retrievers and the introduction of Ozzie into their world is causing considerable unease and consternation. When we went out to dinner we took Ozzie with us and left him in the car--his special den. He was content in the parking lot in his own space in the back of the car.

Driving around Los Angeles at night is like a carnival ride. Cars coming out of side streets, cars abruptly changing lanes or pulling out of parking spaces, cops on motorcycles trying to chase down a dog running down the middle of a crowded 6 lane road, lights flashing. The same thing was happening in the skies as a helicopter circled overhead, searchlight shining into backyards, apparently looking for some miscreant. Now we have gotten home, full of delicious pizza and Double Arrogant Bastard Ale, and we are ready for bed, impossibly early for any self-respecting Angelino..
