Catching Up

A good friend sort of surprised us with a visit today. We've been friends all through medical school, but he is currently at a remote site for rotations. We haven't seen each other since he moved. The visit provided some much needed time to catch up on life events and how rotations have been so far. We went out for sushi at one of our old haunts. He made meringue cookies, which are amazing and my favorites (which he knows). The cookies will be a very welcome treat all weekend, since we are starting the paleo diet Monday. They're forbidden on it. Husband's new Kitchenaid mixer worked well in the making of them, too. We also practiced some OMT to relieve long standing stress induced body aches.

I was also able to have lunch with some former co-workers/friends that I haven't seen in forever. The place hasn't changed at all, except for a fresh coat of paint on the surroundings. It was great to get caught up on their lives and swap stories, even if it was a short visit.

I was also surprised with the gender of my best friend's baby today. It's a BOY!
