Christmas Has Left the Building

As much as I like the festive period, the family all together, quiet roads, eating with impunity etc, there does come a point where it's nice put it all away, hoover up the pine needles and get on with the year,

One of the final acts of the big tidy up for us is the shredding of the Christmas tree. This gives the garden a little bit of fresh mulch, the squirrels fresh nesting material, the blackbirds something to root around in and us some firewood whilst we witness the start of Dancing On Ice.

And also a quick snap of some pine needles before they face the shredder.

I must admit that I'm wondering at the moment about the future of this daily photo thing. I've sort of defaulted into a second year without really thinking about whether I want to come up with something everyday. 300 is up in a few days, let's see what that brings.

For the geeks : This is quite a fast shutter speed with flash in Manual mode on the P&S. Something DSLR's still struggle with (snigger).
