Guanajuato At Sunset

We never get tired of this amazing city and do our best to expose family and friends to its considerable charms. This trip our daughter is the recipient of our tour guide services. Of course, we took her to the Museo de Momies, the Hildalgo Mercado, the Alhóndiga de Granaditas and walked her all over town showing her the theaters, churches and alleyways for which this town is world renown (a UNESCO World Cultural site). The crowning moment of the day was when we took her up the funicular to visit El Pípila at sunset. This spectacular view of the city is impressive anytime but at sunset is absolutely amazing. The lights winking on through the city added just the right complement to the beautifully fading light, making the multicolored buildings appear to glow from within.
