The old village pond

In the next road to us is this attractive pond, on the verge at the roadside. The deeds to our house show that the farmer had the right to walk his cattle through our back garden, on the way to watering at the pond. The house on the left with the yellow windows is Highstanding Farmhouse which I blipped Here – maybe it was this farmer who had the rights. He would have a hard time nowadays, our back garden is pretty land locked with other gardens, and the track long gone.

A day of mixed weather with a terrific shower and horizontal rain this morning, visibility nil, then sunshine but dull by the time I was coming home, blipless and looking for inspiration nearer home.
