One Street 25 : On your bike!

I was very brave this morning and headed off to the dentist without too much wimpering or procrastination. Two fillings and three massive injections and I'm slowly thawing out. The day started dull, grey and calm, no wind thankfully but I came back on the northside to see what had happended there and a lot of the road was closed. Diversons are up tiny little roads and they now are becoming potholed and incredibly muddy. I then went to look at our own road having seenTJ's image from yesterday. It was incredible - far worse than when I went a few days ago. This section is where you come into Ahakista - a huge chunk of the road has just been swept away, you can see how the walls have tumbled and telegraph poles lie scattered. The lorry belongs to Eircom who were busily trying to rehang dangling wires. Some people are intrepid or foolish, and this chap had cycled down from Durrus to see what was going on.

More damage can be seen here.
Calm after the storm

We went to see American Hustle last night (after chips - no fish for himself though as no boats have been out). It was well made and very fine acting but it all seemed a bit empty and incredible - all about the roles we invent and the masks we wear and the cons we contrive - who was conning who got a bit convuluted though and you didn't really care about any of the characters. What I want to know though was did Christian Bale put on tons of weight especially for the part or was he wearing a body suit? The important questions. I think the former.
