Pictorial blethers

By blethers

A bit late ...

... to be heading out on a walk, at almost 4pm on a grey January afternoon, but old habits die hard and we had a disrupted sort of morning. This is the Holy Loch seen through the trees of Kilmun Arboretum, just above the car park. We walked for over an hour, and when we came back we were more or less unable to see the ground. I kept muttering "I cannot see what flowers lie at my feet ..." - that sort of thing.

Just as I was getting into the car first one and then a second heron flew silently overhead, looking more enormous than ever as a black shape against a purple, moonlit sky. Like the Nazgul, perhaps?

Too many literary allusions. It was a walk, that's all!
