Not the northern lights

Due to the increase in the solar flares I had heard that there was a possibility of seeing the Northern lights even in southern England - so after dinner we headed out in search of the aurora. Nearby is the highpoint of the Ridgeway, so we parked in the carpark and looked Northwards. Alas no aurora! But looking south there were loads of stars out, including the constellation of orion. The Brow of the hill was hardly visible in the dark - but with the longer exposure the sillhoette of this park bench became visible.
OO well - will just have to return to Iceland to see the Northern Lights again.
