The Windsock

I had another very early start to the day. I and the dogs were walking at 5.45am. Of course I just had to stop and photograph my favourite early morning views…. The Richmond Range shrouded in clouds. The windsock in today’s image is on the edge of the Omaka Airfield. There are some vineyards belonging to the Wither Hills wine company along the perimeter of the airfield.
The Omaka Airfield is used, in the main, by light aircraft and gliders. Many pilots have learnt to fly from here. Training flights frequently pass overhead when we are out walking along the Taylor River. An old RAF bi-plane was zooming around the skies yesterday. Alas, my point and shoot was not the right camera for capturing images of the plane.
