Wanderings & Witterings

Speirs Wharf, Forth & Clyde Canal, Glasgow

What to do on a wet day? Easy - walk along a part of the Forth & Clyde Canal that I hadn't visited before. Waterproofs on, camera in pocket (sticking with my point-and-shoot for the moment), a bus trip into Glasgow and a walk up to Port Dundas and Speirs Wharf.

Then a short wander along the Glasgow Branch section of the Forth & Clyde Canal before retreating into Tesco's in Maryhill to dry off and grab a cup of coffee before heading home. Will be doing the same stretch of water in a few days' time, but hopefully on that occasion will make it as far as Maryhill Locks and the Kelvin Walkway. But this was always meant to be a short excursion today.
