From the air .........

.......... The River Thames and London .... .... definitely worth a larger look

Taken from my flight to Germany at approx. 08.10 Friday morning.

On my screen and zoomed a little I can see - from bottom left following the river "up" the picture ..

The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (also known as the Dartford Crossing) nicely lit by the morning sun;

The Rainham Marshes on the north of the river - an RSPB reserve;

The Gallions Point Marina - again on the north of the river;

The Thames Barrier - although you may not be able to see that it does cross the river just in front of the big horseshoe bend near the top of the picture;

On the first part of the horseshoe is the O2 dome;

The City of London;

Finally The Shard can just be seen as the white, thin pointy thing in the far distance!!!!!

I LOVE flying over cities.

Mission completed and I am now home.

Thanks for all your "safe travels" wishes.
