horns of wilmington's cow

Getting to know you...

Morning visit from what looks like the same fox that got a mouthful of Blue's tail feathers on New Year's Day - the chicken run may be over-engineered (if in need of a clean-up and re-paint once winter is over), but this is why. Beautiful animals though.

The portrait and profile are both sharper shots (which I'm pleased with considering I was hand-holding at 500mm through the french-door windows), but sometimes you've got to rein the zoom back for the context. Just love the chooks watching him watching them. Assuming he's new-ish, maybe a youngster finding his own way for the first time (already with a nick out of his ear) as most of the foxes that visit don't give the chooks a second glance if they're in the run, whereas this wee chap was pawing at it, and obviously sitting staring, going so far as wandering into the bush beside the run to investigate whether there was a way in there.

Right. I have a new back door to the garage to buy, cut, mount and paint, so I can't sit round here all day. Toodle.
