Another potter

This young man was shaping 5 gallon water pots from huge snakes of clay. These are the pots that the river water settles in overnight before it is used for drinking and cooking. It was hard work in cramped and smoky conditions. He and his elderly father could only make a few pots a day, and they had to pay for the firewood to fire the kilns, and suffer some broken pots. They were paid a pittance by the middle men who transported and sold the pots for quite a lot of money in distant towns.
