Jezebel

From Wikipedia:

In modern usage, the name of Jezebel is sometimes used as a synonym for sexually promiscuous and sometimes controlling women, as in the title of the 1938 Bette Davis film Jezebel or the 1951 Frankie Laine hit "Jezebel".

Interesting thing to put on your number plate...

Complete forgot I was supposed to be meeting friends Iain and James for lunch at the Mussel Inn today, so that was a nice surprise for myself, with the added bonus of spotting a gorgeous husky pup on the way to the restaurant.

And then there was the entertainment laid on. Actually, to be fair to the 'lady who lunches', her two young sons were perfectly well behaved (not sure why they weren't at school, maybe Merchiston pupils?) and the awful cut-glass accent was far enough away not to be distracting.

But there was a lovely moment when the desserts were delivered. Both boys picked up the physalis adorning their plates, as often finds its way into a dessert, clearly querying what is was. There was a hushed moment, beautifully timed, to hear, "That's syphilis."

Ah. Made my day.
