horns of wilmington's cow

Down with this sort of thing!

Careful now...

The big protest was on, and I had instructions to meet Steviefish and troops Monochrome and Boab at the Oxford Bar at 12.30. Except it turned out they had a more liquid based form of protest envisaged... nice to catch up with the lads - and what actually made this photo the shot of the day is the concerned look from the chap over Stef's shoulder, while Boab checks out the Merc.

Last night we heard the pitter-patter of tiny feet paws in the house. We had a visit from a retired greyhound - first stages in working out if we're going to get one. She was a beautiful dog, and has been cat assessed, something that was obvious from how much she ignored the cat - which for his part sat on the sofa hardly blinking (until a little later) letting out the occasional hiss, or low growl when the 'hound walked past a bit too close. Apparently a good first meeting - it can take 3-4 weeks for the cat and dog to be comfortable in the same house.

The jury is out. We don't want to cause the cat too much stress given he's an old lad and has got used to having the house to himself after Bambi died last year. But at the same time the greyhound was gorgeous, and I've missed having a dog around, while Mel has long wanted one.

Anyway, plenty of time to come to a decision.

On the wander back to work I spotted an 'Exclusively Opening Sale' (what is it with leather shops and their continual sales, there are three such shops in the space of a 100 yards on Shandwick Place and all have sales on). Start as you mean to go on I guess...
