Let the Celebrations Continue

We may be well past the dates for Christmas and New Year celebrations, but I, for one, attended two belated gatherings this weekend. Devoid of most of the fanfare and pressure that typically accompanies the holiday season, it was utterly fun and relaxing to attend both of these parties.

Pictured above are some of the wonderful employees of Boundary Bay Brewery, where my older son Tai works preparing delicious sauces, stews, their wonderful caesar dressing, the mac and cheese, and many other favorites. Boundary's semi-formal holiday celebration, held this evening, was open to employees and their families and included a gift exchange, a fun photo booth complete with props, giant-sized bowls of fresh, steamed Dungeness crab, caesar salads, potatoes au gratin, and of course, pints and pints of their wonderful beer. Tai made a point to introduce me to several of his co-workers, and even helped me crack open more crab when I was slowing down and losing steam.

What a terrific way to finish off the weekend and kickstart the work week! It was so much fun to meet several of the faces, and the behind-the-scenes crew that keeps this Bellingham institution the popular gathering spot that it is.

Well done, everybody!
