Butterfly

This beautiful butterfly hung around our apartment door for quite awhile this afternoon. It was like she was begging to have her photograph taken, so naturally I obliged (with suitable urging from my wife who first discovered her). The butterfly was so patient, I had ample opportunity to shoot her from a number of different angles. While the white background is a bit distracting, this was the angle that best showed off her distinctive wings. I would have loved to catch her in flight, but she seemed perfectly happy just resting by the door - even as we continued to enter and exit throughout the rest of the afternoon.
