Antequera

Today we drove inland about 60km to visit the town of Antequera and the Torcal park just South of it.

The town was as picturesque as promised and me and Jen did the tourist walk from the leaflet, involving lots of hills (naturally) and some very nice Moorish architecture and Catholic churches. The Alcazaba at the top of the hill with it's Arch of Giants was especially worth it, at the top of the bell tower one can see for miles.

We hit Torcal around dusk and the rock fromations were absolutely stunning in the pink glow of the sunset. We saw an enourmous eagle drift by on the thermals and I encoutered a small herd (12 or so) of Ibex on my walk through the peak area.
