Blue Skies, Dead Grass., No Leaves....

As far as the eye can see...

I am a sun lover, but even I am beginning to pray for rain. There is a lake, which is also a reservoir, which has dried up so much that a town, called Morman Town, has emerged on what was once at the bottom of the lake until it was flooded in 1958. I don't think anybody ever expected to see it again. Sounds like a good scenario for a really good mystery story....

There's something kind of fascinating and definitely sad about the thought of filling a dam, watching the water slowly rise, covering homes, stores, tree, roads. Rising water might float all boats, but the tradeoff is that it must sink individual lives. The Seven Gorges Dam in China comes to mind. People were taken from their homes and farms and "relocated" in soulless high rises. It's a thorny problem....
