Crabapples

Here's one of our many crabapples that holds its fruit into the winter. Some we eat and pickle, some are eaten by birds and small creatures, and some hang on to the tree, likely a little too unappetizing except as famine food.
This is Malus sargentii, taken at night with a flash and manipulated a wee bit in Photoshop.
