Day Three - The Darkest of the Ribbons

I am putting these in the dye pot two by two in order to get a gradient effect so these will go from dark to light. The first two are done and I ironed a bit to show how the crinkling and wrinkling of the fiber causes a pattern in the finished part.

Sari silk ribbons are the remnants of making saris not old saris! The ribbon is usually not finished on either side and usually pieces all sewn together to make one long piece. They can be used as accents in knitting and weaving or to wrap gifts or used as one yarn throughout a project. the ideas seem endless!

The two darkest are like my deep pink peonies in color.
