Gadwalls and sea walls

Epicly massively long bike ride today. The target destination was north berwick, but we should really have allowed a couple of extra days for that to happen. Instead, we made it to Aberlady, and along the way added 21 new birds to the 2014 list. Particular highlights included shoveler, gadwall, Slavonian grebe and red throated diver - all proper firsts for me. And gorgeous gorgeous long tailed ducks, all along the coast from Musselburgh. Unfortunately we had apologies from the waxwings and the King Eider - how rude. Hopefully not too long before I can count them too. Watch this space.
